Ecclesiology is the study of the church, and in order to be a healthy church body, we must be equipped with God’s design for the church.  That’s what this series is all about.  In Church(ology) we determined to discover God’s heart for the Body of Christ.  Below are the sermon notes from each talk in the series.  The “for further study” section and application may continue to serve you well.

Genesis Tool Kit

The first book of our Bible is worthy of sincere study.  Without sacrificing depth, we attempted a study of Genesis that allowed us to see the forest for the trees.  So we flew high, illustrated the theology and history of Genesis with art, and did it all in six sessions.  To fill in the gaps and promote personal and family study, again we created a Tool Kit.  In it you will find background information, an outline, resources, small group discussion questions and high quality copies of our original Genesis Art pieces.  As always, we pray this resource is a blessing to you and that it helps you find great joy in God’s Word.

Grace-ism Series

This perhaps has been one of the most meaningful studies in the recent history of Faith Bible Church.  We value grace in our church.  We talk about it a lot.  We believe God’s grace is free and that it is not only the gift of God that saves us but it is also the motivation for living a Christ-honoring life as well as the model of our relationships.  Focusing on this last aspect of Biblical grace, we approached this pivotal series by asking how God’s grace affects our relationships.  God’s Word came alive in our study and our church was profoundly affected.

Gospel of John Tool Kit

In the Fall of 2009 we began a series through every verse of the Gospel of John.  It is a favorite of Teaching Pastor Scot Pollok and the focus of much of his previous study.  This four-part John Tool Kit provides background to the Gospel, an outline, other resources and a list of discussion questions for each passage that may still be useful for you.  Peruse the parts and other articles and we pray they are a blessing to your study of John.

These articles and papers add additional and specific study to certain parts of John.

Family Series

In this brief series we studied Biblical families like Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah and others and approached the Biblical text with the question “how can this example help us reach your hope for our families?”  It proved a tremendous study.  We offered the following annotated list of resources as potential “next steps” in leadership of your family.  We hope that these recommendations, many of them staff favorites, inspire you, challenge you, comfort you, convict you and serve you well.

Haggai Tool Kit

Back in the Summer of 2009 we embarked on a short study of a forgotten book: the prophecy of Haggai.  Unknown to most of us at the time was the significant relevance and application of this ancient book.  Here you will find some essential background on Haggai that will help place the book in its context.  You will also find other helpful studies, outlines and resources for personal study.

As an appendix to this tool kit you will find a great resource on Spiritual Disciplines, which was a consistent application point for the preaching series. We hope that both aspects of this tool kit serve you well.
