CHASING WHAT MATTERS

At Faith, Our Men’s ministry is about helping men connect to other men to encourage one another to “Chase What Matters”.  Men need encouragement, a place to be inspired, to be themselves, and to receive tools to help them become Great Men.

Our men gather together in many different ways to accomplish this: in large/Special Events groups, small groups, or one-on-one. Look at our list of events to see how you can connect:

LARGER GROUP & SPECIAL EVENT GATHERINGS

Father/Son Campout: Dads, don’t miss this opportunity.   Near the end of October, join over a hundred Fathers & Sons for a great weekend of fun, memory-making, and significant moments with your son. Establish, build, and restore relationships in the great outdoors near Huntsville.  This year’s campout is on October 26-28th.

Men’s Monday Night Football: This is the best place to begin to meet men at Faith Bible Church.  No Agenda, just eating and football. The Fall kicks-off with a Men’s BBQ competition and a presentation of  the vision driving Men’s ministry for the year.  After the kick-off and through the rest of the fall, we gather monthly on Monday evenings to watch “the game” and make new friends. Check the Calendar from September-December for the Gathering of Men. No sign-ups necessary.

Leading Men Conferences: teaching and discussion on topics critical to be a godly man in today’s world. There will be three weekend conferences throughout the year that we hope every man will attend to further discover how to “Chase What Matters”. See the Calendar for more details.

Men’s Retreat: Our Men’s retreat is our premier men’s event at Faith Bible Church.  Over a hundred men, good food, solid thinking, and time away is a good recipe for growth in our faith.  This year we will be considering the topic of “Spiritual Weight Training”.  Our speaker this year is Tim Lundy, a Teaching Pastor and the Executive Team Leader at Venture Christian Church. He is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M) and was on the staff of the Center for Christian Leadership. For the past twenty years he has served as a pastor at churches in Memphis, Bangkok, Dallas, and succeeded Robert Lewis at Fellowship Bible, Little Rock, Arkansas.  We are glad to have you join us.

Men’s Mission Trip: Kevin Hicks leads a group of men every summer to Guatemala for life changing ministry alongside our ministries partners.   The work consists of  various construction and ministry projects. If you are interested in joining him and other men this year, contact Kevin at kevin.hicks@sbcglobal.net

Father/Daughter Campout - spend a special weekend with your “princesses”. Join other fathers for a campout that your daughter(s) surely won’t forget. Near Huntsville. The campout is usually at the end of April, check the calendar for details. David Cunningham is the coordinator for this campout.

Men’s Hoops – Every other Tuesday from 8-10pm, hang out with men and get some great exercise. This is an informal game of hoops that all skills and ages are welcome. To join the e-mail list, click here and provide your information.

SMALL GROUP GATHERINGS

Geographic Based Lunch Groups: If you work downtown, in the Greenspoint area, or in the Woodlands  and are interested in gathering with men who work near you for lunch and spiritual encouragement once or twice a month, then please e-mail Gavin at gcarrier@faithbibleonline.org to get on the e-mail list to receive reminders and locations.

Saturday Morning “Band of Brothers”: Every Saturday at 7:30-9am, there is a dedicated group of men studying God’s word and supporting one another in prayer. Contact Harold Andrade for more details: Andrade@flash.net
